How to Sign-Up for Portfolio Review Timeslots

Sign-Up Process for Portfolio Reviews

Students will be able to sign-up on-line through ArtWorks for portfolio reviews on a first-come, first served basis.

To sign-up for portfolio reviews you MUST be registered in ArtWorks, have a profile, and upload a resume with a link to your portfolio online.

Prepare now, follow these instructions:

  1. For new users, click here to register.

  2. If you need to update your profile and resume, login here and then click on the 'My Account' tab and then 'My Profile' (be sure your 'Year in School' is accurate).

  3. Finally, click on 'My Documents' to upload your resume.

Sign-ups will happen over the course of two days:

  • March 6th, 2019 at 6:00 pm: You may sign up for 3 portfolio reviews

  • March 7th, 2019 at 12 noon: You may sign-up for 4 additional portfolio reviews

Portfolio Review time slots fill very quickly! Be sure you review all companies attending the Design Portfolio Review and prioritize those you want to meet with first and foremost.

Prioritize a list of 10-15 companies for your reference when the sign-ups open.

  1. Log in to your ArtWorks profile.

  2. Hover over “Interview/Portfolio Review Schedules” at the top of the page and click on “Sign Up for Timeslot.”

  3. Use “Advanced Search” to narrow down the list.

  4. Click on the Schedule ID for the company/organization you want.

  5. Click the “Sign Up” button at the top of the page. If there is no button, the schedule is already full.

  6. Click “Sign Up” next to the time you want. If a list does not appear, the schedule is full.

  7. Select your resume and click “Sign Up”

  8. Check for the confirmation message saying you have successfully signed up for the timeslot you selected. If you have signed up for too many timeslots, you will get an error message. If you believe this message is wrong, close your browser and log in again.

  9. To cancel or change your timeslot (if space is available), scroll down to the “Sessions” section and click on the Interview Date. Click either “Cancel” or “Switch Time” next to the timeslot you selected. You cannot cancel or change your schedule after March 7th.

  10. To sign up for additional timeslots, repeat steps 2-8. When you have already signed up for a timeslot, a green star will appear next to that schedule.

View and Print Your Schedule

  1. You can view all your upcoming schedules by clicking on “View My Activity” in the left navigation bar and selecting the “Schedules” tab.

  2. Click the “Print Upcoming Interviews” button to get a printable list of all your timeslots.

Drop Your Resume

  1. If you cannot get on a company’s schedule, you can use the online Resume Drop on March 6th and 7th. The Career Center will be sure to send your resume to the company for their consideration and to inform them of your interest before the Design Portfolio Review.

  2. Click on the “Career Programs/Events” tab.

  3. Find the Portfolio Review you are attending and click “View Employers.”

  4. Find the Organization you want to give your resume to and click their name.

  5. Click the “Drop Resume” button.

  6. You MUST select your resume, then click “Save.”

Resume Drop instructions are on pages 20-24 of the screenshots below.

IMPORTANT - Cancelling a Portfolio Review After March 13

What if I need to cancel or miss a review I signed-up for?
Every effort should be made to keep your review appointments out of respect for the reviewer’s time and your fellow students. In the event of an unavoidable hardship, such as illness or emergency, advance notice of your cancellation is appreciated, if possible. Portfolio review cancellations should be sent to risdcareers@risd.edu.

To follow up a missed appointment, it is customary to send a brief message to the reviewer with the hopes of restoring future relations. To learn more about this process, visit the Career Center during drop-in hours or by booking an appointment.
